Announces Transition to Hyper-Reach Emergency Alerting System
Stanton
County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) announced today that Stanton County
has selected Hyper-Reach as its new emergency notification and public alerting
platform. This next-generation system will enhance Stanton County’s ability to
rapidly communicate critical information to residents and visitors during
emergencies, helping protect lives and property.
Hyper-Reach
is a public-safety-focused mass notification system trusted by thousands of
agencies nationwide. Once fully operational, the system will serve as Stanton
County’s primary alerting tool for severe weather, environmental hazards,
public safety incidents, missing persons, road closures, evacuations, and other
urgent situations. The County expects the system to be fully operational by the
end of January 2026.
The
emergency alert system can deliver notifications through multiple channels,
including phone calls, text messages, emails, FEMA Wireless Emergency Alerts
(WEA), social media, browser notifications, Alexa-enabled smart speakers, and
TTY/TDD services for the hearing impaired. Alerts can be targeted
geographically, allowing the County to notify specific areas quickly and
efficiently.
“Our mission
is to protect the residents and visitors of Stanton County as effectively and
efficiently as possible,” said Mike Frohberg, Director of Emergency Management
for Stanton County. “After reviewing all major emergency notification
providers, Hyper-Reach stood out as the best combination of capability,
flexibility, and value. This platform gives us the ability to reach people
quickly, using the communication methods they rely on most.”
Landline
telephones are automatically enrolled to receive community emergency alerts.
Residents who wish to receive weather alerts on landlines, or any alerts on
mobile phones, VoIP phones, and email addresses, are encouraged to enroll in
the system.
Residents
and individuals who live, work, and visit, in Stanton County can sign up by:
• Calling or
texting “Alert” to 402-396-2122, or
• Visiting:

Residents
may also receive emergency alerts through Alexa-enabled smart speakers by
saying, “Alexa, enable Hyper-Reach,” and following the instructions provided.
In addition, the free Hyper-Reach Anywhere smartphone app allows users to
manage alerts for multiple locations, such as home, work, or addresses of
family members.
“We’re
honored to partner with the Stanton County Emergency Management Agency and
Stanton County to provide critical emergency alerts,” said Barbra Yager, Sales
and Marketing Manager at Hyper-Reach. “Helping communities save lives and
protect property is at the core of what we do.”
More
information about the new alerting system, including public outreach and
enrollment reminders, will be shared by Stanton County EMA in the coming weeks
through its website and social media platforms.
