Stanton County EMA Attends O305 Course in North Platte
November 01, 2025
Stanton County Emergency Manager Mike Frohberg recently completed a full week of training in North Platte as part of the O305 Type 3 Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) Course. He is actively working toward FEMA credentialing as a Type 3 Safety Officer in preparation for future regional and statewide deployments.
The training was intensive and highly rewarding, supported by outstanding instruction from NEMA, the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Southeast Region’s SEN-IMAT Team. The O305 Course emphasizes the critical role Type 3 IMATs play when large-scale incidents overwhelm local responders. These teams provide experienced personnel—including an Incident Commander, Safety Officer, Liaison Officer, Logistics Section Chief, Planning Section Chief, Operations Section Chief, Finance Section Chief, and Public Information Officer—to bring structure, coordination, and an effective Incident Action Plan to complex operations.
Frohberg expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to train alongside such dedicated professionals and looks forward to future deployments where these skills can be put into action.
