Stanton County EMA Assists with Guardians of Freedom Airshow in Lincoln, Nebraska

This week I started my training to become a Type 3 Incident Management Team-Safety Officer. This process can take up to 3 years to complete and will require me to take part in assisting with numerous events and disasters as I work towards being fully qualified. In addition to the incidents and events, I will also be required to take a 5-day Safety Officer class sometime in the future.
With over 90,000 people in attendance and dozens of vendors, you have to be prepared with multiple fire and rescue departments, volunteer organizations, law enforcement agencies, and military personnel. It is imperative that everyone is on the same page and follows the event plan! There are so many moving parts when you have this type of equipment in operation.
Stanton County EMA, Thayer County EMA, and the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, assisted Lancaster County EMA, the Nebraska Air National Guard, and the United States Air Force with this weekend’s Guardians of Freedom Airshow in Lincoln, Nebraska.
